“Trump-RNC fundraising committee plans to expand operation with finance chairs in all 50 states” (4.15.20) According to this report, in 2016 the Trump campaign and RNC’s joint fundraising committee had only named chairs in 33 states and Washington, D.C. That means Trump is doubling-down on his efforts to raise an unprecedented amount of money in this election.
And this report comes just after news broke that Donald Trump and the RNC had already raised $212 million in the first quarter of 2020, with over half a billion raised for the cycle so far.
We know that Donald Trump’s growing war chest will be used to keep pushing misleading claims about Joe Biden through millions of dollars spent on attack ads. We have to fight back, and that’s where grassroots donations come in.
