James Taylor

Friends,

First of all, I want to thank you for everything you did to elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

The last time I wrote you, we were headed toward Election Day and were in a struggle for the soul of this nation. We won that first, big, all-important battle, but our task still stands before us. It's painfully apparent that we have a lot of work to do on many fronts.

President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are shining examples of dedicated and experienced public servants, and the beginning of their administration will be absolutely critical.

I'm proud to be a part of the 59th Presidential Inauguration of our country because this inaugural ceremony will set the tone for our new administration and reflect their values of inclusivity, kindness, and unity.

We're going to come together for a special "We the People Concert" tomorrow, January 17 at 8 PM ET as part of our inaugural program. To gain access to this event, all you need to do is the same thing you have been doing -- make a grassroots donation so that we can ensure the entire 3-day inaugural event goes forward, made possible by the people and for the people.

As I'm sure you saw, we'll be joined by a lot of special guests tomorrow, all performing music and speaking about the truths our country was founded on and what unites us -- not what divides us.

I'm excited to appear, virtually, with Keegan-Michael Key, Debra Messing, AJR, Michael Bivins, Connie Britton, Sophia Bush, Jaime Camil, DJ Cassidy, Cher, Fall Out Boy, Ben Harper, Carole King, Kal Penn, will.i.am, and more. And the highlight will be the chance to hear from the incoming President and Vice President.

I believe this will be an important and much-needed event, and with the virtual nature of this inauguration, it doesn't matter where you are. If you can chip in a few bucks to inaugurate our 46th president, you can be a part of this event, making it the most accessible inauguration concert in history.

So please, join us tomorrow night at 8 PM ET. Click here to chip in anything you can afford or to select a special grassroots package if you would like some commemorative gear, and the team will send you the link to access the event in your receipt.

And if you have already chipped in for a ticket, I'll see you there! Check your inbox for your donation receipt or reach out to info@bideninaugural.org if you still need help finding it.

I so hope you'll join me, along with my fellow artists and of course our revered President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

Gratefully,
James Taylor

Folks,

As Wednesday's inauguration events draw nearer, I’ve taken some time to reflect on the moments that got us here, the reasons we emerged victorious in this battle for the soul of our nation.

All those moments were frankly driven by folks like you. We won because you -- and over 81 million people like you -- are ready for the beginning of a new national journey and were loud about it. “We the People” are the first three words of the United States Constitution for a reason, and last November, you helped make that clear once again.

That’s why you are cordially invited to the We the People Concert, taking place tomorrow, January 17 at 8:00 PM ET. Hosted by Keegan-Michael Key and Debra Messing, the concert will have performances by AJR, DJ Cassidy, Fall Out Boy, Ben Harper, Carole King, James Taylor, and feature Michael Bivins, Connie Britton, Sophia Bush, Jaime Camil, Kal Penn, and will.i.am -- along with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, and myself.

Chip in any amount to reach the Grassroots Supporter level and gain access to this exclusive programming, chip in at least $25 for the Grassroots VIP package (event access and a personalized ticket), or chip in at least $50 for the Grassroots Partner package (event access, a personalized ticket, and an exclusive commemorative poster).

Just like you and I, the performers and speakers we’ve confirmed for tomorrow are excited to start a new chapter in our nation’s history, and I am especially grateful they are giving their time and energy to celebrate with us.

I know this We the People concert is just the event to set the tone for everything else to come, and I hope you’ll join the party tomorrow night at 8:00 PM ET. Remember: any donation gains you entry, but a $25 donation also gets you a personalized ticket, and a $50 donation gets you a personalized ticket and an exclusive commemorative poster.
