I know you understand how important this is. | | | | | Emily -- Eleven years ago, I sent an email from the DNC shortly after a minority of senators blocked a commonsense background checks bill. They blocked it right after the tragic shootings in Sandy Hook. That bill ultimately failed, but I wasn't giving up. I've been in politics a long time. I've seen time and time again that real, lasting change isn't always immediate.
