America is a country of possibilities.
And if there's one thing I know — it's that when we work together, we can do anything.
We can overcome our division. We can reclaim common decency and goodness in our politics. We can take back our country.
But it starts with each of us making a choice.
To get up and vote, and take it a step further by volunteering for candidates with character.
So I'm asking: Find a volunteer opportunity near you right now and take the outcome of this election into your own hands.
Folks, my mom used to say, "Character is made up of 1000 little things, not one big thing."
From the way we interact with people, to how we treat people, or hold the door open for someone, or thank the guy who cleaned the sewer during the storm to make sure our basement didn't flood ... The little things really add up.
And if thousands of us come together, and rise to this occasion as the best version of ourselves, I have no doubt that America's brightest days are ahead of us.
That we'll be worthy of being called the shining city on the hill.
