  | Emily, Early this morning, Donald Trump instructed House Republicans to pass a budget that would rip away health care from nearly 14 million Americans and slash a program that more than 40 million working families rely on to put food on the table. This is all to give permanent tax handouts to the top 1 percent — paid for by the rest of us. Here's the thing: Trump manufactured an unnecessary economic crisis all on his own. He's created tough times for millions of people already. Now, he's taking away the very protections that help families get by during those tough times. Emily ‐ This morning, House Republicans voted to pass President Trump's bill to slash funding for Medicaid, nutrition programs, and other vital programs millions of Americans including those in red states — need to get by. And they did it to fund tax cuts for some of the wealthiest people in America. That is not hyperbole; that is fact. And when the vote came in, Republicans chanted USA! USA! USA! on the floor of the House. Shameful.
