It’s been a long week -- Donald Trump and the Republicans followed up our convention with four straight days of anger, divisiveness, and partisan fear mongering.
But I hope you’re not feeling discouraged. I’m certainly not.
Because, like I said over a week ago: Hope, love, and light are more powerful than hatred, fear, and darkness ever will be.
I’m confident that with this message, we can show the world that hope trumps fear -- but we need to hit our fundraising goals to do that, and we came up a little short on our goal for the Republican convention.
That makes our current task all the more important. If we hit our end-of-month goal by tomorrow night, we’ll close the books on August in a position of strength. It’s my first public deadline with Kamala Harris on the ticket with me as my running mate, so this one is important to me.

If we don’t raise $247,500 more from first-time donors in Virginia by midnight tomorrow, we won’t hit our goal.
If we don’t hit our goal, we might get outraised by Trump and the Republicans for the second month in a row.
And if we get outraised, Trump could use that advantage to drown out our message of hope and unity and to claim that there isn’t excitement around Joe and Kamala as the Democratic ticket.
It doesn’t have to be this way, but we need to act now. That’s why we’re asking you: If you’re able, will you be one of the first-time donors we need from Virginia to chip in $25 today? With your $25 today, we can reach our ambitious goal tomorrow.
