Trust me, I know these emails pile up. But I hope you’ll read this one and give me a chance to explain why they’re so important in fueling our fight to elect Joe Biden and defeat Donald Trump.

Earlier this month, we told you that May needed to be a huge month for us because we need to quickly build the campaign infrastructure necessary to wage a general election battle.

That’s why my team and I keep emailing you this week. We set a goal on Tuesday that not only makes up for our small deficit, but also helps fund our necessary budget going into the Summer -- $6 million online by midnight on Sunday.
That $6 million isn’t arbitrary. It’s what we need to fund critical hiring waves to expand our staff and launch new ads to get Joe’s message out across the country. And it's all going to be raised online through folks like you.

For decades, Joe brought change to Washington, but Washington never changed him. Because Joe Biden is simply put, a unifier. It’s who he is, it’s who he has been since he was a scrappy kid from Scranton. He brings everyone to the table; it’s what he was raised to do.
Picking Joe Biden as my Vice President was the first big decision I made as a nominee. And it was the best one.
He has the foreign policy know-how to think fast on his feet, world leaders know him and respect him, and I was always glad to have his expertise by my side in the Situation Room.
More importantly, he understands what people are going through right now. He’s walked in our shoes. As a kid, he had to leave Scranton while his dad changed jobs to keep his family afloat. As a single dad, he took the train to and from Washington to tuck his own boys in at night. He knows that life can shatter with a single phone call, and that’s why he’s always made decisions with people going through their toughest times in mind.
