October 14 is our LAST public fundraising deadline of the campaign, and we have a huge goal to hit. | |  | | Folks, I want to speak candidly for a second -- will you entertain me on this?
This next week, you’re going to see a lot of emails along the line of “THIS IS THE BIGGEST FUNDRAISING DEADLINE OF OUR CAMPAIGN.”
You might even get a few of those from us!
But I want to break down what this means. For the general election we moved into monthly deadlines, as you know since we just wrapped up our last one on September 30. But as a presidential campaign in a presidential year, we’re now moving into two week filing deadlines.
So the FEC has our next deadline on Wednesday. And those numbers will be made public information less than two weeks before Election Day. Take a look:

It’s the last time to get your name on record as one of the grassroots donors who helped us elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. These deadlines aren’t arbitrary. They’re real dates on a calendar that our team is constantly planning around.
After our deadline on October 14, our numbers must be public by October 22 -- meaning everyone (including Donald Trump and undecided battleground state voters) will be able to see our final totals.
So, as you can see, it’s a pretty big deal.
And we’ll be poring over these numbers in the next week, tracking them on spreadsheets, and watching the progress bar inch towards 100%.
We’ve created some benchmarks by state to make sure we are on pace -- but if we can’t raise $2,317,500 more in Virginia before our deadline on Wednesday, we won’t hit our goal to show the public that we’ve got what it takes to defeat Donald Trump.
So we’re relying on emails (like this!) and real people (like you!) to help us meet our goal, and we appreciate every time you open an email and pitch in -- so I have to ask you one more time:
