As one of our strongest supporters, we wanted to make sure you understood why August is such an important month for this team, and why we hope you’ll chip in your first $5 today.
FIRST: We outraised Trump and the Republicans in May and June. This put us in a strong financial position, and we were able to make historic advertising investments thanks to the incredible amount of grassroots donations we received in those months.
BUT THEN: Trump ramped up his in-person fundraisers and added digital ones, and we learned last week that Trump and the Republicans outraised us in July. And not by a little -- by $25 million. That means he can keep up his ads smearing Joe Biden in battleground states across the country.
SO NOW: We can’t afford to be outraised again this month. And it’s not just about keeping our ads on the air to counter Trump’s -- we’re also building a first-of-its-kind digital organizing program to persuade and turn out as many voters as possible, even in the midst of a national crisis.
