Emily,

When some people hear the words "tax policy," their minds immediately jump to percentages, dollar amounts, and spreadsheets.

But fundamentally, tax policy is about something broader.

It's about who our government works for.

Does our government only work for billionaires and billionaire corporations, or does it work for everybody?

Does our tax system reward the rich, or does it look out for someone who's putting together two or three jobs just to keep their family above water?

I'm bringing this up right now because Washington has major decisions to make about tax laws.

Donald Trump's tax breaks for the rich that he passed in 2017 — mostly sucked up by millionaires, billionaires, and giant corporations — are set to expire. And Congressional Republicans are working to extend them, following Trump's lead, who promised to cut taxes for his "rich as hell" donors.

In the U.S. Senate, I'll keep calling out GOP plans to slash taxes for the rich. I'll keep putting forward plans to protect working families from devastating cuts. And I'll keep fighting to make our government work not just for the wealthy and well-connected but everybody.

And I won't be alone.

People like you are raising your voices around the country — at town halls, on the phone lines, at local organizing events, at protests — and exposing the Republican agenda. If we can grow and sustain our momentum, we can create enough pressure in Congress and from the public to stop the GOP from handing billions more dollars to billionaires.

Another thing you can do right now is make a contribution to the DNC as they organize against Trump's disastrous agenda while working to elect as many Democrats as possible who will check this administration's power in their cities, states, and districts.

Your Feedback for Democrats →

Over the past two weeks, our team sent around a feedback form asking supporters what they'd like to see the DNC do and what changes or initiatives they'd like to see us prioritize.

More than 30,000 people took the time to share their feedback. We've analyzed the data and compiled the top results — and here's what we found.

Survey responses

The majority of survey respondents would like the DNC to prioritize:

Communication Strategy

Building a stronger, in-depth, and more visible communication strategy, including sharing more content that emphasizes Democratic values and what the DNC is doing — not just in fighting back against Trump but also on how we're building our Party for the long-term.

Suggestions included modernizing our media outreach to connect with younger audiences. Additionally, supporters would like to see more targeted outreach, including hearing more from the DNC about opportunities to get involved where you are, and the opportunity to provide more feedback to help strengthen the Democratic Party as a whole.

Investments in Organizing:

Respondents said they would like to see the DNC expand its investments in year-round grassroots and community-based organizing. This is something we've already begun at the direction of our new Chair Ken Martin, making investments in the Wisconsin and Florida Democratic coordinated campaigns ahead of their state's special elections in the coming days.

If you want to help win these special elections, sign up to get involved at democrats.org/take-action

At the same time, supporters want to be heard, and more than 20,000 survey respondents said they would like to see Democrats host more town halls and listening sessions where Party leaders can hear from voters directly.

Ultimately, the survey shows that respondents want to ensure the Party is listening to voters, and that we are able to reach and engage people well before Election Day. This will help us ensure that voters are bought in on what Democrats are doing, and that they turn out in every county to elect Democrats both locally and nationally.

Messaging:

Survey respondents emphasized that they would like to see Democrats share a clearer message on issues like the economy, rising costs, health care, housing affordability, and tax fairness — ideally, a message that resonates with people all over the country.

Additionally, respondents shared many thoughts on how Democrats communicate, with many suggesting Democrats should share messaging "in a way that everyone can understand and repeat." Respondents also called on Democrats to do more to fight back against misinformation and to be louder in countering Republican narratives.

Bottom Line:

We are so grateful for your feedback. We're committed to doing more to effectively reach more voters, clearly communicate the work we are doing, and ensure that voters know we are the Party that shows up for them year-round — not just right before Election Day.

Now, we're sharing these results with DNC Chair Ken Martin and are actively working on incorporating this feedback into our strategy. We will keep you updated as we take on more efforts like investing in local and statewide elections, holding more town halls across the country, reaching younger voters more effectively, and more.

Thank you,

The Democrats

Legally required to report what the DNC has raised

Everyone will be watching: the press, the Trump administration, and more.

‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

In just a few days, the DNC closes the books on the most important FEC fundraising deadline since the last election.

When this deadline ends, they are legally required to report how much money they've raised. The number of donations they've received will also be public.

Everyone will be watching: the press, the Trump administration, and more.

They're looking to see how much grassroots enthusiasm there is for stopping Trump's agenda, and these numbers are a big part of that.

If they file a big report with lots of donations, Republicans will know they'll face stiff opposition when Congress tries to pass Trump's tax cuts for billionaires, paid for by cuts to lifesaving programs.

If the DNC files a weak report, then the Trump administration and the press will see there's no pushback to what they're trying.

So this is a big deal. And it's why the DNC is hoping for lots and lots of donations before this deadline ends. So if you've been looking for something meaningful to do to stop Trump, here it goes:

Please contribute to the DNC today. The amount isn't even as important as the number of donations they receive. It will all add up fast when Democrats across the country are chipping in.

Team Kamala
