Emily, did you see this? Donald Trump signed an executive order two weeks ago to restrict mail-in voting and give the Department of Homeland Security direct oversight over who can vote. This attack on vote-by-mail is an assault on Americans’ constitutional rights, and will disproportionately impact working families, seniors, Americans with disabilities, and members of the military who rely on mail-in voting to make their voices heard in our elections. So we have a question for you, Emily: Do you support the DNC’s work to defend voting rights? Here’s the deal: The DNC filed a new lawsuit to stop Donald Trump immediately. Thinking about it
There has been a lot of talk about what I am thinking about.
Here’s the thing, Emily.
As I travel the country and listen to folks struggling to support themselves with dignity, I am thinking about the Americans who are suffering because of Donald Trump’s lies.
Now Trump wants at least $200 billion for this war. Meanwhile, he and his cronies have cut Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, and caused insurance premiums, gas, and other everyday costs to skyrocket.
People have the right to expect that their government wants to alleviate their suffering, not contribute to it.
We must be clear-eyed about what is going on in this country — and the fight ahead. Thank you for being a part of my team as we navigate this next chapter.
