Emily, it’s Roger, the DNC’s Executive Director. In a moment, I’m going to ask you to chip in $7 to the DNC. But first, I want to give you a quick update on our progress this month, and what comes next.
To sum it up: We’re building the largest midterm operation in DNC history — and it’s not going to be easy, but we’re going to win the midterms. The future of our democracy depends on it. That’s why we need your help, Emily. Building a movement this large is expensive. It will take literally hundreds of thousands of Democrats just like you, volunteering their time and giving what they can. My team carefully calculates fundraising goals every month to make sure that we’re on track to win, and right now we’re pacing to fall just short of our $600K goal. So I have to ask: If this work matters to you, please chip in $7 to the DNC today to help us meet our critical goal. We’ll put your donation to work immediately to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot and across the country. If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly. Thank you for your support, Roger Lau If you gave recently via check or mail, our system may not have yet processed your gift. We are appreciative and thank you greatly for your support. Here’s the game plan, Emily:
What we need to do:

Emily, In case you haven’t heard, the Supreme Court just decided Louisiana v. Callais, gutting the last truly enforceable tenets of the Voting Rights Act protecting majority-minority districts. This decision comes hand-in-hand with Trump and his Republican allies’ mission to weaken the voting power of communities of color across the country. If you’re as fired up as we are, you can chip in here to fund our voter protection work. This is a devastating gut-punch to Americans and voters of color everywhere, but Democrats are determined to fight tooth and nail to ensure the voices of all Americans are heard in November and every election that follows. Here’s our path forward: The DNC is already working overtime on the ground in key battleground states to register hundreds of thousands of new Democratic voters ahead of November’s midterms. We’re building power in our state parties and investing nationwide to ensure they have the resources they need to win down-ballot elections this year and beyond. And we’re organizing across the country to reach as many voters as possible, because we must win back Congress this year. Here’s the truth, Emily: We know this is a dark moment in our history, but by winning back Congress this year and beginning to work to win back the White House in 2028, Democrats have the ability to mitigate the harm this decision could (and likely will) cause in the upcoming years. And by putting a Democrat in the White House two years from now, we have the chance to change the balance of the Supreme Court with justices who believe in and will protect the voting rights of Americans of color everywhere. If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly. Thank you, The Democrats If you gave recently via check or mail, our system may not have yet processed your gift. Cheating
$5. That is how much I am asking you to contribute right now to help Democrats fight back against attacks on voting rights.
If you understand the consequences of today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision and how important your immediate support is for Democrats in the midterm elections and beyond, please use this link to give: https://act.kamalaharris.com/go/fight-for-the-people
Let me explain why we have to respond before it’s too late.
Today’s Supreme Court ruling guts the Voting Rights Act and turns back the clock on the foundational promise of equality and fairness in our election systems.
This will burst open the floodgates for Republicans to rush to redraw districts — particularly those in the South — before voting for the midterms begins in just a few months.
Already, Florida has passed a new congressional map giving Republicans four more seats. Louisiana is planning to redraw their maps as well, and we should not be surprised if others rapidly follow suit.
Make no mistake: This is cheating to maintain power.
I have spent a lot of time in the South recently, and I know the importance of our movement there. Donald Trump knows it too. That is why he is trying to rig the game in his favor.
Their politically motivated power grab is meant to protect elected Republicans from any consequences for their failure to make groceries, gas, health care, or housing more affordable for you and your family.
They want to cheat and choose their voters, instead of the voters deciding who they choose.
So we must fight fire with fire because time is running out before November. That is what this moment requires of all of us.
From California to Virginia, voters have already sent the clear message that we will fight to keep the power with the people. When we do the work together, we can win.
It is not too late for us, but we have to act now. So I am asking:
If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly.
There is no question our fight became harder today, but I know we are up for the battle.
Thank you,
Kamala Harris

BREAKING: What the Supreme Court did today

Emily, This is Dan Freeman, the DNC’s Litigation Director. I’m reaching out to give you an update on the Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais. I wish I had better news. Today, the Supreme Court gutted the core requirement of the Voting Rights Act that protected majority-minority districts. This will make it much harder to bring discrimination claims against redistricting maps. The Court ignored standards set by Congress, overturned decades of precedent, and severely undercut a core victory of the Civil Rights Movement. With this ruling, the Court has opened the door to diluting Black, Latino, AANHPI, and Native American representation across the country, especially in the South, where Republicans have made clear they want to eliminate the voting power of minority communities. Emily, here’s the deal: When President Trump and his administration refuse to defend Americans’ voting rights, or actively attempt to violate them, the Democratic National Committee is ready, willing, and able to stand up and defend the American people. The DNC is taking on Republicans on all fronts—in the courts, in the press, on social media, and on the ground—to ensure that we elect Democrats who will stand up to these aspiring authoritarians. This setback only strengthens our resolve to fight. If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly. Thank you for standing with us, Dan Dan Freeman If you gave recently via check or mail, our system may not have yet processed your gift. We are appreciative and thank you greatly for your support. We’re furious, Emily.

Emily, Today, with its decision in Louisiana v. Callais, the Supreme Court gutted the core requirement of the Voting Rights Act to protect minority opportunity districts. We’re furious, and we know you are too. If you’re ready to act, rush a $7 donation to the DNC to help us protect voting rights. With this ruling, the Court has opened the door to diluting Black, Latino, AANHPI, and Native American representation across the country, especially in the South, where Republicans have made clear they want to split the voting power of minority communities. This decision is a huge blow. Today is a dark day for America and for voters of color across the country — but we cannot let this decision slow us down, even for a minute. Emily, this decision will make it harder to take back control of Congress. It will put a permanent scar on American democracy and impact election results for decades to come. This is a major step backwards in the fight for racial justice and fair representation. All of that is true, but so is this: We are not backing down. Democrats will fight tooth and nail to ensure the voices of all Americans are heard this November, and in every election after that. Our lawyers work every day to protect voting rights in this country. As we speak, they are engaged in court battles with the Trump administration over their illegal attempts to access state voter rolls and to make it harder to register and vote. So while this decision is a major setback, we are not giving up. We don’t have a choice; we have to keep fighting. The future of our democracy depends on it.
