I’m reaching out because, after eight years, tomorrow will be my last end-of-month deadline here at the DNC. This work isn’t easy, but I wanted to share with you the reasons I’ve stayed for so many years: The people. Over the last eight years, I’ve seen a lot of changes at the DNC. In this field, change is our one constant, and people come and go with election cycles. But I can say with absolute certainty that I’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the most talented, passionate, wonderful people in politics during my time here. Getting to recruit, train, and develop a team that cares so much about the future of our country has been a responsibility I take so much pride in, and getting to work closely with each of them has been such a joy. The culture. As I said, the work we do here isn’t always easy, but the commitment my colleagues bring to work day in and day out makes every challenge worth it. From my coworkers on the grassroots fundraising team to legal to organizing to our analytics team and more, we’re a team of hard workers who are passionate about creating a better future for every American. The fight. Electing Democrats nationwide and fighting like hell against Trump and his Republican and billionaire allies is ultimately why I came to work every day. I’m very aware that the work I do impacts the real lives of Americans across the country — I’m fighting not only for myself and my loved ones, but for you and yours. And while I’m sad to be leaving the DNC, I know that I’m leaving behind the most talented and passionate team who will continue doing amazing work and fighting for a better future for folks across the country, just like you. The DNC is the only organization in the country fighting to elect Democrats at all levels of government who will fight to protect their cities, districts, and states from the chaos of the Trump administration. I’m honored to have contributed my part to this cause, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team I’m leaving behind to continue this work.
