Too big to rig
Emily, it’s Kamala from the road in Louisiana: ground zero for Republicans’ attacks on our voting rights. I will be direct: I am respectfully asking you to make a contribution to support my work bolstering Democrats here and across the country ahead of the midterm elections.
Under the new map Republicans jammed through after the Supreme Court further gutted the Voting Rights Act, representation for Black Americans in Louisiana will be cut in half.
Why?
So Republican leaders can tighten their grip on power while regular folks get left behind.
They’re more focused on making billions of dollars than helping you afford health care. More focused on building Trump a gilded ballroom than reducing bringing down your grocery bill. More focused on trying to silence their critics than filling up your gas tank. More focused on deploying ICE to terrorize our neighbors than on trying to help you make rent.
They are more obsessed with Trump’s $125 billion war in Iran than with your wellbeing right here in America.
So let's be frank: we must win these upcoming elections to make the changes we need. To take on money in politics, we must build a huge grassroots movement that can defeat the entrenched elite and uplift the power of the people.
