While some may seek to co-opt our nation’s 250th anniversary into partisan tributes for their political leader, Democrats honor our past by fighting for civil rights, voting rights, lower costs, and equal opportunity. So, Emily, I want to thank you. Because the fact that you’re reading this email tells me that you haven’t given up on making our country a better place. You’re still in this fight with us. You believe in the real promise of America, not the phony promises of the liar in the White House. I can’t tell you how much your support means to me, to our organizing fellows who are registering new voters every day, to our lawyers who are fighting Donald Trump in court, and to our volunteers who are knocking doors and making phone calls for campaigns across the country. Reflecting
Emily –
As we approach the 250th anniversary of the birth of this nation on the Fourth of July, I am taking a moment to reflect.
Not literally. The Reflecting Pool is otherwise occupied at the moment.
Donald Trump’s invasive corruption has bloomed across Washington, D.C. while Americans across the country feel the consequences.
So I am reflecting on how we will rebuild from the debris left over from this administration without any sense of nostalgia.
Things are hard right now. They are probably going to get worse before they get better.
But let me be clear: We cannot let Donald Trump, or any collection of individuals who hold power in this moment, determine who we are.
We love our country — and when you love something, you fight for it.
So while Donald Trump, the self-proclaimed “dictator on day one,” tries to distract us this weekend from his failure to make life better for you and your family, we must remain focused.
Together, we must continue to fight for the ideals of our nation just like our founders did 250 years ago.

Lauren Boebert’s hand-picked candidate is chomping at the bit to flip this seat. He can’t wait to rubber-stamp the president’s cruel agenda. Can you believe that, Emily!? State Senator Mark Baisley has pledged to partner with the Trump administration. He’s vowed to limit abortion access and supports overturning common-sense gun control. I couldn’t be more different from Mark Baisley. He doesn’t seem to care that ICE is dragging people from their cars and killing people in the streets. He’s defending federal agents killing American citizens. I won’t stop fighting until ICE is reformed. Baisley would be proud to support President Trump as he increases your health care premiums to pay for tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy. I’m fighting to extend the ACA tax credits and lower health care costs. He’s even tried to overturn gay marriage in Colorado. As Governor, I signed the law that allowed same-sex couples to enter into civil unions. And in the Senate, I’ve protected marriage equality nationwide. Emily, the differences are clear: Mark Baisley will bend the knee to Trump. I’m fighting like hell to stand up to MAGA’s reckless agenda.
