I'm asking you to give today because we are at a truly unprecedented moment in American history, where we must defeat a president who does not believe in the Constitution, the separation of powers, or the rule of law. And a president who is a pathological liar.
But this election is about more than just defeating Donald Trump.
This election is about ending the absurdity of the very rich getting much richer while 90 million Americans are uninsured or underinsured, tens of millions work for starvation wages, 500,000 are homeless and more than 18 million spend half their incomes on housing.
This election is about creating millions of new jobs as we lead the world in combating climate change and transforming our energy system. It is about creating a bright future for young people as we make public colleges and universities tuition-free for working class families while substantially reducing student debt in America.
This election is about taking on the greed and price fixing of the pharmaceutical industry and making sure that our people aren’t paying the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs.
This election is about guaranteeing that every woman in America gets equal pay for equal work and has the right to control her own body.
This election is about expanding the middle class of this country by making it easier for workers to join unions, engage in collective bargaining and ending the heavy-handed tactics that make it hard for workers to unionize in America.
But it goes without saying that we won’t be able to accomplish any of this if we don’t do our part to elect Joe and Kamala in these next five days, because they cannot do it alone. So I am asking:

There are just five days left in this election, and we can’t take anything for granted.
I know first-hand because in my first run for the Senate in 1972, I won the general election by less than 4,000 votes.
And I know that this time around, some battleground states could come down to the wire, too. If you chip in $25, it will help us pull out a win in the individual states that will decide this election.
