I've learned over the last three years as governor of Pennsylvania that power isn't just wielded in large acts or on big stages — or by people with titles next to their names.

You have enormous power, Emily. And today, I'm asking you to use it.

I'll tell you what I mean by that in a moment, but before I go any further, I need you to know:

Republicans are already hard at work, attacking Democrats to prevent us from winning races across the country this year and beyond. Now, it's on all of us to make sure they don't go unchecked. Will you chip in whatever you can to the DNC today to help Democrats push back?

In times like these, I know it's easy to question the impact of small, individual action — to feel like the Republicans running the show in DC are too powerful, too isolated for any single person to make a difference. But that's not true at all.

And Pennsylvania would know.

Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of patriots gathered in Philadelphia to declare our independence from the most powerful empire in the world. Just a small handful of people had the courage to tell the entire world that we had the power to determine America's future.

Not a king. Not a tyrant. Not then, and not now.

I think about that story a lot, Emily.

I see how small, individual actions — the decision to support a campaign, the courage to protest peacefully, the bravery to speak out against injustice — have added up and changed our country for the better.

That's what elections are all about. Seemingly small but meaningful actions all coming together into something bigger. Something unstoppable. Now, I'm asking you to join me and take that small step to help us build a brighter future.
