Have you seen this, Emily? That’s right. Just days after Trump’s far-right Supreme Court decided Louisiana v. Callais, which gutted the Voting Rights Act, Republicans in Tennessee are gerrymandering their map to split up Memphis, silencing voters in the state’s largest majority-Black city by pairing them with rural voters hundreds of miles away. And we’ll be honest: It’s only a matter of time before other Republican states follow. Republicans know their agenda is historically unpopular, which is why Democrats have been on a winning streak since Trump took office last January. So Republicans are redrawing themselves more House seats in a desperate attempt to stop us from taking back the majority this November. Emily, this means we need our grassroots team to step up like never before. The DNC is organizing across the country, registering new Democrats in key battleground states, and providing resources to state parties and campaigns so they’re well-equipped to fight and win this year. Urgent redistricting update
Breaking: Tennessee Republicans eliminate sole majority-Black congressional district

BREAKING: Republicans in Tennessee have officially passed a new congressional map, carving up the state’s only majority-Black district just days after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. Emily, this redistricting plan is exactly what Trump and his hand-picked Supreme Court wanted when they handed down the Callais decision last week. With Louisiana v. Callais, the U.S. Supreme Court gutted the core requirement of the Voting Rights Act to protect minority opportunity districts — overturning decades of precedent and undercutting a core victory of the Civil Rights Movement. Callais opened the door for states to dilute Black, Latino, AANHPI, Native American, and Alaska Native representation — especially in the South, where Republicans have made clear they want to split the voting power of minority communities. And that’s exactly what Republicans in Tennessee did today. This is another shameful power grab by the GOP in their attempt to rig the midterms, as Trump scrambles to hold on to the GOP’s House majority. We cannot let them win. If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your split contribution between the Tennessee Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee instantly: We will keep you updated with more news and ways to fight back in the coming days. While today’s news out of Tennessee is a gut punch, make no mistake: Democrats will fight tooth and nail to ensure the voices of all Americans are heard in November — and in every election that follows. Here's what we need to do:

Emily, In case you haven’t heard, the Supreme Court recently decided Louisiana v. Callais, gutting the last truly enforceable tenets of the Voting Rights Act protecting majority-minority districts. This decision comes hand-in-hand with Trump and his Republican allies’ mission to weaken the voting power of communities of color across the country. If you’re as fired up as we are, you can chip in here to fund our voter protection work. This is a devastating gut-punch to Americans and voters of color everywhere, but Democrats are determined to fight tooth and nail to ensure the voices of all Americans are heard in November and every election that follows. Here’s our path forward: The DNC is already working overtime on the ground in key battleground states to register hundreds of thousands of new Democratic voters ahead of November’s midterms. We’re building power in our state parties and investing nationwide to ensure they have the resources they need to win down-ballot elections this year and beyond. And we’re organizing across the country to reach as many voters as possible, because we must win back Congress this year. Here’s the truth, Emily: We know this is a dark moment in our history, but by winning back Congress this year and beginning to work to win back the White House in 2028, Democrats have the ability to mitigate the harm this decision could (and likely will) cause in the upcoming years. And by putting a Democrat in the White House two years from now, we have the chance to change the balance of the Supreme Court with justices who believe in and will protect the voting rights of Americans of color everywhere. Something you might not want to hear

Emily, Republicans are doing everything they can to keep control of Congress this November — and their billionaire buddies are dumping cash into Republican campaigns and super PACs to stop the American people from electing Democrats who will actually fight for working families. As one of our top supporters, it’s important to us that you know exactly what it’s going to take to win this November — and that means sometimes sharing things you might not want to hear. This is the hard truth: We’re being majorly outraised. Look at this graph from NPR: Cash makes a HUGE difference right now, Emily. Republicans know their agenda is historically unpopular, and they’ll pour millions of dollars into races across the country, trying to sway voters. But here’s one piece of good news: While Republicans have the upper hand financially, we have something that they don’t: You. Time and time again since Trump took office, Americans have shown up to the polls in record numbers to deliver a message to Republicans: We are done with your cruelty and your chaos. Now, we’re asking you to show up again. If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly.
