Hi Emily, it’s Ken Martin. I’m reaching out to share a few reflections on Labor Day. Today, we reflect on the labor movement’s impact on our country, and the work we still have ahead of us for every worker to be treated with respect and dignity. This fight is personal for me: I come from a union family, I carried a union card, and I led the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party for 14 years prior to joining the DNC as Chair. The fight for workers has been the fight of my lifetime. Right now, Donald Trump and his Republican allies are attacking organized labor and putting workers in harm’s way by rolling back key safety protections and regulations for workers nationwide, reducing the minimum wage for federal contractors, and stripping collective bargaining rights from federal employees in unions. Emily, Donald Trump’s goal is clear: strip rights from American workers while lining his pockets and profiting off of the presidency. The fight to defend working Americans against Trump and the ultra-wealthy elites has never been more dire. There has never been a more important moment to take a stand. That’s why I’m proud to work every day to elect more Democrats — the party of champions for workers. This year we have the chance to put a check on the Trump administration’s anti-worker agenda at the ballot box. It’s an honor to serve the Democratic Party as DNC Chair, and to continue fighting for all of you, this Labor Day and every day. Thank you, Ken Ken Martin If you gave recently via check or mail, our system may not have yet processed your gift. We are appreciative and thank you greatly for your support. Emily, we’re building the largest midterm operation in DNC history to take back control of Congress this November, but we need your help right now. Your donation today will help fund our work to register new Democrats in battleground states, organize everywhere, and win everywhere. Text JOIN to 43367 Want to receive fewer emails? Click here.
