While some may seek to co-opt our nation’s 250th anniversary into partisan tributes for their political leader, Democrats honor our past by fighting for civil rights, voting rights, lower costs, and equal opportunity. So, Emily, I want to thank you. Because the fact that you’re reading this email tells me that you haven’t given up on making our country a better place. You’re still in this fight with us. You believe in the real promise of America, not the phony promises of the liar in the White House. I can’t tell you how much your support means to me, to our organizing fellows who are registering new voters every day, to our lawyers who are fighting Donald Trump in court, and to our volunteers who are knocking doors and making phone calls for campaigns across the country. This grassroots team is the reason we will make Donald Trump a lame duck this November. But I’d be lying if I said this work was easy. It takes a lot of resources, and a lot of money. That’s why my team set a goal for today: to have 250 donations from every single state. It doesn’t matter if it’s $5, $25, or $100.
