This was a risky move

Emily,

I want to tell you about a pretty risky decision that I made last year:

For too long, Democratic strategy has been dominated by a boom-and-bust political model. We raise money, build temporary campaign operations late in the cycle, hire short-term organizers, run last-minute advertisements, hold an election, and then dismantle much of the infrastructure we just created.

Skilled staff scatter. Field offices close. Local relationships atrophy. Voters may not hear from the party again until the next election, when we return to ask for their votes. Then, every two or four years, we spend enormous sums rebuilding what we allowed to disappear.

When I ran for DNC chair, I knew I wanted to try something different: Replacing this decades-old campaign model with permanent political infrastructure.

We are not choosing between winning now and building for the future. The investments we’re making are designed to do both: Win big this November and build a stronger party for the elections that follow.

And here’s the thing: This new strategy is working.

We know that because Democrats have won or overperformed in nearly 90% of key races since Donald Trump took office.

Emily, 90% isn’t an accident, it’s hard work paying off. But we can’t take our success in the last year and a half as permission to rest for one single second before November.

I took this calculated risk knowing that we could count on you, our grassroots supporters, to back us. Which is why I’m writing today to ask:

Will you chip in $7 to the DNC today? We promise we won’t let your contribution sit in a bank account for months on end, we’ll put it to work right away to power Democrats to victory up and down the ballot, across the country — and build permanent infrastructure to keep that momentum growing far beyond this November.

If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your contribution instantly.

Thank you,

Ken

If you gave recently via check or mail, our system may not have yet processed your gift. We are appreciative and thank you greatly for your support.

Emily, we’re building the largest midterm operation in DNC history to take back control of Congress this November, but we need your help right now.

Your donation today will help fund our work to register new Democrats in battleground states, organize everywhere, and win everywhere.
