| Emily, I'm reaching out today to extend warm wishes and say happy Easter to all who celebrate, and to share my thoughts on what this holiday means to me. I was raised Catholic and still remain Catholic today, and my faith has guided me throughout my life. It is, in part, what has called me to public service. As the chair of the DNC, I bring the principle of standing with our most vulnerable people and communities to my work every day. Today, Christians across the country and the world reflect on and celebrate the Resurrection. To me, it's important that the values we share with each other this weekend — joy, hope, and unwavering faith in humanity — inform how we live our lives. We must remember to love our neighbors and to care for the least of us, regardless of who they are, especially right now. We have seen how easily hate can take hold in this country. But I believe that love and community will always win in the end. | Emily, Trump signed an executive order yesterday to restrict mail-in voting and give the Department of Homeland Security direct oversight over who can vote. The DNC is filing a new lawsuit to stop him immediately, and you can chip in here to help power our fight to protect mail-in voting. If you're skeptical about how your donation can do this, please let me explain: Last year, Trump signed an executive order that could have disenfranchised married women who changed their names and members of our armed services. We sued, this grassroots team rallied behind us, and we won in court. Since then, Trump has sought to "take over" state-run elections, he's used the FBI to seize ballots from election offices in Georgia, and he's tried to coerce states into giving him access to their voter rolls. Now, he's taking it to a new level: His new executive order directs the federal government to build a voter list for each state to decide who can and cannot vote — and he's told the Postal Service to refuse to carry ballots for anyone not on its new list of eligible voters. This isn't the time for fear, though, Emily, it's the time for action. I want to tell you directly that the DNC won't let this happen. With the help of grassroots supporters like you, we'll block his order from going into effect. We'll defend your right to vote. We'll protect your right to a free and fair election. And, when November rolls around, we'll make sure Democrats can kick these right-wing authoritarians out of office.
