Hi, Emily, From the start of this campaign, I have thought about why I made the decision to run for the U.S. Senate in Kansas. I’m a husband, a father of two remarkable daughters, and a grandfather. I’m also the founding pastor of the largest United Methodist Church in the United States and a proud fifth-generation Kansan. My great-great grandparents moved to Dickinson County, Kansas, 147 years ago. They were farmers and builders and good people who helped build their communities of Hope and Elmo. Like them, I love Kansas and its people, and I love my country. That’s why I feel called to run for the U.S. Senate. Today, our nation’s highest values and aspirations are being undermined, and chaos and corruption in Washington is tearing Americans apart. We’ve insulted and alienated our allies. And we have a government in DC that’s making life harder for Kansans. People can’t afford the basics – food, gas and health care. I’ve heard from Kansans all over the state who voted for Roger Marshall six years ago and now feel he’s not listening to them. People who have met with him and often feel unseen or dismissed by the man they elected to represent them. And now, this race has gotten close. Between political experts and polls, it’s clear we have a real chance to win here in Kansas and get to work for families. I believe we can and must do more – and as the leader of a large, diverse congregation of roughly equal parts Democrats, Republicans and Independents, I am ready to disrupt partisan gridlock in Washington, bring people together and create meaningful solutions to our problems. If you've stored your info with ActBlue, we'll process your split contribution between Adam Hamilton and the Democratic National Committee instantly: Thank you – now let’s bring some Kansas values to Washington. Adam If you gave recently via check or mail, our system may not have yet processed your gift. We are appreciative and thank you greatly for your support. Emily, we’re building the largest midterm operation in DNC history to take back control of Congress this November, but we need your help right now. Your donation today will help fund our work to register new Democrats in battleground states, organize everywhere, and win everywhere. Text JOIN to 43367 Want to receive fewer emails? Click here.
