Do you have a second to hear me out?

Hi Emily, it's Carole King. 🎶

As we watch elected Republicans continue to knuckle under to the will of a wannabe king, it's important to remember that there are a lot of caring, courageous people in government -- and it appears that most of them are Democrats.

We need to vote for Democrats in massive numbers at every level -- and no office is more consequential than President of the United States!

I know Joe Biden, and he is worthy of our support.

Will you give $25 or whatever you can afford to ensure a decisive Biden-Harris victory in November 2024?

Joe's opponent is running to make the presidential seat of power a throne and crush even more people who don't fit into the MAGA mold.

Joe and Kamala are running to continue their work to lift people up and ensure that our democracy survives the relentless MAGA onslaught.

We must defeat MAGA decisively in 2024. The alternative is unthinkable.

Let's end October on a high note. Don't let MAGA Republicans demoralize you.

Here's something you can do right now: DONATE $25 or whatever you can afford to reelect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Every dollar really does matter.

Thank you so much for caring. With your help, we can do this.

Every generation has a moment where they have had to stand up for democracy. To stand up for their fundamental freedoms. I believe this is ours. -- Joe Biden

Minnesotans love Joe Biden

You know, I have to say this about Minnesota: it's a great state, full of great people. And sometimes they do crazy things. Like setting the world record for most basketballs spun at the same time (that's true) or winning the most WNBA championships (go Lynx!). And sometimes…they make political side shows for themselves. But that's for another email.

One other thing is true of Minnesota: We love Joe Biden and we're working day in and day out to get him reelected. So, apropos of nothing, I'm asking you to join us:

Will you pitch in a couple of bucks to show your Minnesota-style support for Joe? For the price of a Jucy Lucy -- if you know, you know -- you can help power the grassroots campaign to defeat MAGA Republicans up and down the ballot.

Joe and Kamala have an unbelievable record of accomplishment. They've created millions of jobs around the country, and over 185,000 jobs right here in my home state. We even had the President here a few months ago to tout them, and he'll be back next week. Maybe that's why every elected Democrat in Minnesota has a record of voting with him on nearly every single item of his agenda.

If we take our eyes off the ball, we could lose out on all of the progress we've made. We're up against Joe Biden's only credible opponents: Donald Trump and his MAGA minions. We need everyone's head in the game if we're going to defeat them -- everything else is a silly sideshow.

If you, like me, are focused like a laser on helping Joe Biden defeat MAGA Republicanism, stand with me and hundreds of thousands of Minnesotans today:

Pitch in $25 to reelect Joe and Kamala and help them finish the job. We've got a big general election ahead, and no time to be distracted by the noise. Whatever you're able to contribute will go a long way in funding their robust campaign's efforts to get out the message to voters, register voters, and get them to the polls come November 2024.

The key to Joe Biden defeating Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans again is good Democrats like you standing behind him. The rest is just gravy.

Thanks for being on this team, Emily.

[INVITE] Knock Doors in Virginia!

Emily --

Election Day in Virginia is November 7, and there is a lot on the line: MAGA extremists are trying to take total control of the state government.

Earlier this year, MAGA Republicans tried to pass an extreme abortion ban in Virginia but were stopped by a slim Democratic majority. If the GOP wins in a matter of days, Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin will have the votes to ban abortion -- and doctors performing the procedure could be criminalized.

This election is incredibly important. That's why we're calling on folks in DC, Maryland, and Virginia to knock doors for Virginia Democrats who are up for election this November 7.

This is an all hands on deck situation and YOUR HELP IS NEEDED, where every state Senate seat is up for election. The difference between protecting abortion rights, preserving the education system, and keeping families safe could all come down to who is elected come November.

Sign up now to knock doors:

Thank you for your commitment to this team,

My statement on the Lewiston, Maine tragedy

Once again, our nation is in mourning after yet another senseless and tragic mass shooting yesterday.

Today, Jill and I are praying for the Americans in Lewiston, Maine who've lost their lives, for those still in critical care, and for the families, survivors, and community members enduring shock and grief.

For countless Americans who have survived gun violence and been traumatized by it, a shooting such as this reopens deep and painful wounds. Far too many Americans have now had a family member killed or injured as a result of gun violence. That is not normal, and we cannot accept it.

While we have made progress on gun safety through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the two dozen executive actions I've taken, and the establishment of the first-ever White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, it's simply not enough.

Today, in the wake of yet another tragedy, I urge Republican lawmakers in Congress to fulfill their duty to protect the American people. Work with us to pass a bill banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, to enact universal background checks, to require safe storage of guns, and end immunity from liability for gun manufacturers. This is the very least we owe every American who will now bear the scars -- physical and mental -- of this latest attack.

We have to do more.

Thank you,

Joe
